CHIRP is a volunteer project. Adding radio drivers takes a lot of work on someone's weekend or evening time, even after they have the actual radio itself.

For private use you need to be on the GMRS frequencies (46x.xxxxMhz) channel 1-22. Technically the FCC requires a license but..... Anyway eachradio needs to be programmed for the specific freq in use.
